What to expect when working with Yellow Room Photo

A lot of times there can be great anticipation around what to expect in your family photo shoot. I’ve been there myself- wondering what to expect, what will the person I hired be like, how will be children behave, and what will happen when it’s all over.

I’m here to take away the guess work!

I start our relationship with a phone call- I know, super old school, right?! But I’ve found that this is the best way to answer any of your questions, discuss location, for me to learn about your family, for you to learn about me, and so forth.

This is a collaboration- do you have ideas about a location? What time of day works best for your littles? These are some of the items I want to ensure we talk about to make this the best experience for your family.

After we’ve secured your date and you’re on board, I send over a questionnaire to get to know your family. As I just said- I want your session to be a collaboration- I’m here to showcase YOUR love story- so I want to know about what you want to remember in this season of your life; what makes your children laugh; what special things are happening in your life; what fun quirks about your children do you want preserved; etc. Do you have ideas that you want brought to life through my lens?

Before your session, I send you a Client Prep guide- this covers outfits, make-up, etc. If you feel lost, am happy to bounce ideas and help you coordinate your outfits.

A few days before your session, I send you information on final details about your session and how to prepare your kids so that this can be seamless.

Finally- it’s session time!

Woohoo! Here is the fun part! I'll initially get everyone comfortable with a few poses and shutter clicks, and then we let the session unfold.

I want you to twirl, dance, snuggle into your partner, breathe in your babies, kiss, laugh, and enjoy this time you have together, unplugged from everything else.

I've been doing this a long time and spent years as a social worker- there's very little I haven't seen and not much phases me- so take a deep breath, relax, and know I GOT YOU!

Curious about a more first hand experience? Heidi talks more about working with me HERE.

Approximately three weeks after the session, I deliver you a gallery of your edited images. You will download your images (recommended on your computer) and use your print credit.

Why a print credit? We all plan on printing, but photos always end up living on our computers and phones. I’ve taken the headache out of getting your images printed!

Once your gallery is delivered, you have access to your entire gallery of images where you can design an album or order museum-quality prints, acrylic art, canvas, or framed prints using the print credit from your purchased collection, delivered straight to your doorstep!

I am not only here to photograph your family; I’m here to guide you through the process so you can have fun focusing on what matters most- your family. I’m here to showcase your love story.

Are you ready to book your session??
