In-home maternity session, Phoenix, AZ
This beautiful family is about to go from a family of 3 to a family of 4. Those final weeks of anticipation as your baby is about to arrive are filled with excitement and nervousness.
Often in subsequent pregnancies, there is little time to slow down and soak in what is happening because you are busy keeping up with your older child(ren). Which makes these maternity photography sessions even more important- to preserve this time when all seems to blur together.
I’ve had the honor of photographing this family in their Phoenix home multiple times in the last year. They knew that this was their last summer in Phoenix before they moved up to the mountains.
We chatted about a photography session that would be truthful to their family and provide them with memories they could hold with them for years to come.
They treasured each evening when they would swim with their son after his nap and before dinner. So we decided to spend time in their home and back yard as a family- first all dressed up, then in the pool.
While my shutter is fast (ninja-like some say), I really want you to be able to slow down during our sessions. Breathe, relax, have fun. I take care of the rest.
In our one-on-one time together, this beautiful mama had a chance to slow down. As I spoke with her about just breathing and connecting with her daughter, tears streamed down her face. She commented that it hadn’t really sunken in that she was having a GIRL! This being a surprise blessing, in the midst of a pandemic, with a career shift, she hadn’t had a minute to just sit with this information. I could physically see her heart swelling with joy. It was an insane honor to be able to provide this family with memories they would treasure to remind them of a time in their lives where being home seemed to slow things down, but the intensity of parenting makes life fly by in a blur.
