Photographing Your Family’s Love Story

There is a series on Amazon Prime called “Modern Love”.  The first season was so incredibly fantastic. I binged watched it and oh. my. goodness.  It focuses on the stories of how love grows, diminishes, and surrounds us in our different relationships.

Love is found in our friendships; found in loving ourselves; found at times too late; found in our marriages; found in our children.

The English language is one of the few that only has one word for love, whereas other languages have different variations or levels of love in the way they are expressed.  And yet love is absolutely nuanced and deserves that level of consideration in our lives.

Love has no bounds, no limits, no script.  It can be beautiful and messy and turbulent and soul-filling.  It’s everything. And I want to capture that for you.

Part of the honor I am given as a photographer is that I am blessed with responsibility of photographing families in all different steps of their journey as a family.  Not every moment/day/month/year in family is joyful; there are times of stress, difficulty, worry.

In your love stories, there are challenges and struggles that make you buckle at the knees, holding onto each other for dear life as you trudge through.

I photographed a family (not the one in this post) who was in the middle of a difficult time; a time they were clinging to one another for the strength to get through.

Mom wrote to me, “My biggest fear was that the stress and sadness would show through at a time when all I wanted to do was smile to get through the tough time. You assured me that what you would capture would be the pure, unfiltered love and connection that my family shared. Sure enough, what I saw when I received my gallery was nothing but love, joy, and happiness!”

In all the different phases of your love story, there is beauty.

I want families to have photographs that remind them of the connection and love that their family has for one another.

I want to tell your family’s love story.
