Beautiful New Beginnings

Those first days with your new baby are absolute treasures. And of course, absolutely exhausting. You finally get to meet this precious human that you have been growing for nine months- study their tiny eyelashes and wrinkly fingers; stare into their eyes and smile at their facial expressions.

Your world is a beautiful, messy blur. And I’m here to preserve all that newborn goodness in a tangible form for you to look back upon.

For me, newborn photography is about more than just those precious details; it’s about your new family dynamic and roles as parents. Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, each child bring a new element to your life in a wondrous and magical way. Your heart bursts open more; your smile lines deepen a bit; a firstborn becomes a sibling; your four-legged baby has another human to watch over.

I was honored to have this incredible family open their home to me again to photograph this special time in their lives. Their last hurrah during their time in Phoenix involved bringing this beautiful baby girl into the world.

The beauty of an in-home newborn session is that amidst the chaos of their packing and adjusting to life as a family of four, they didn’t have to do anything for their session except get dressed. They were thrilled to have these memories in their home to show their children of their time in Phoenix and where they were born.

Their son was still becoming accustomed to the concept of being a big brother and exploring who this tiny human was that his parents brought home. It can be so challenging for a child to understand that he/she/they are no longer the “baby” of the family- even though they will always be a baby in our hearts.

It was a beautiful, slow paced session, filled with connection, wonderful conversation, a few tears, and an immense amount of love. This family may have moved out of state, but they will always hold a very special place in my heart. ❤️
