What does a “Lifestyle Family Photo Session” mean?

Lifestyle sessions are not unposed, but they do allow for the family to “fall into place”.  During your family photo shoot, I will place you into positions and take a few shots of you looking at the camera.  But what unfolds is when you’re given the chance to relax into one another, to laugh, to snuggle, to play. 

The beauty in each of my sessions is that for each family, that means something different.  No two shoots are the same and each one highlights the wonderful uniqueness of your family and the world you have created.

I have found that when children are given the opportunity to explore and play during our sessions, their true personalities shine.  So while we wander the location, I keep shooting and the kids keep playing.  I want you to have the bits of your children’s personality preserved; their looks, their features, their relationships with siblings and you.  

The Salt River near Scottsdale, AZ truly brought out this family’s personality and it was glorious.  Their daughter, while at first shy and unsure of what was happening, became giddy and adventurous.  Their sons each had their own take, one basically diving in and the other cautiously enjoying the cool water- each reaction a true response to their personalities.

And what was created in the end was absolute magic.
