Fresh 48 Hospital Session

When I gave birth to my first child, it did not go swimmingly to say the least. After 25 hours, I needed a c-section to safely bring my child into the world. My body was raw and worn, and the world was spinning. I had dreams of photographing my baby, but I had no desire and my body could barely move. I wish I had hired someone to capture those first moments.  

And that’s my job- to document your new family dynamic and all those fresh new baby features that you’ve envisioned and dreamt about for the last nine months.

When this mama contacted me to do a “Fresh 48” or Hospital session, I did a backflip.  Okay, I can’t actually do a backflip, but if I could, I would have.  They were so excited for their precious baby girl to arrive. 

And I think even more than mom and dad were thrilled, their oldest daughter was ecstatic.  She had waited for this moment for years and was completely over the moon to have a younger sister. 

Not only did I have the honor to photograph this newly formed family of four, but also her parents meeting their new granddaughter.
